What is Domain Forwarding/Redirection?

Domain Forwarding/Redirection:

Domain forwarding is also called as URL redirection/forwarding. It is a technique on the world wide web for making a web page available under many URLs. It allows to redirect web requests for our domain name to content hosted on a different server.

The users might search the same URL's under different names, example gogle.com and googel.com. In this case, the companies or organisation can register these domains. So that it will redirect to the correct one google.com.

An author may move a site to a new domain name. Using the URL redirects, the incoming requests to the old URL will be redirected to the new URL. This will help the users who use bookmarks and also avoid to search and detect the new URL in search engines.
